In my freshman year, I started tutoring elementary school students. For my Korean students who struggle with the English language, I help them with their vocabulary and reading comprehension so that they don’t fall behind in class and are more confident in themselves. I also volunteered with my local organization, IKPAVC (Irvine Korean Parents’ Association Volunteer Committee) by tutoring struggling students in both English and mathematics.

These experiences have helped me develop my leadership and responsibility, serving as a role model to children as well as planning/managing each session. I have also noticed that I am more adaptable and patient, as working with children requires activities that are engaging yet educational.
